MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said it will issue a show cause order for the other driver involved in the viral motor crash along the Marikina-Rizal-Laguna-Quezon (Marilaque) Highway.
The crash involved a motovlogger and another individual, where the vlogger’s motorcycle went into a group of civilians, fatally wounding him and injuring four, according to the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP HPG).
Article continues after this advertisementIn a statement Tuesday, LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II said they “will issue a show cause order against the survivor for him to explain why his driver’s license should not be revoked for the stunt.”

“The other rider who survived the crash is now facing criminal charges in connection with the incident… Among the administrative charges he is facing is reckless driving and improper person to operate a motor vehicle,” the LTO added.
Article continues after this advertisementThe PNP HPG also on Tuesday announced it was adding between 10 and 15 more personnel along the Marilaque Highway to better patrol and ensure safety, especially in areas where the traffic volume is high.

Article continues after this advertisementMendoza also ordered the LTO Calabarzon office to crack down on motorcycle exhibitions by riders along the road.
“We would like to remind the motorcycle riders again to refrain from turning public roads as your exhibition areas. Napaka-iresponsableng gawain po ito (This is so irresponsible to do),” Mendoza said in the statement.
Auction results showed that the Bureau of the Treasury made a full award of P15 billion in reissued T-bonds, which have a remaining life of six years and nine months.

According to data from the PNP HPGshowtime, the viral road crash was the 13th incident recorded by the Rizal Highway Patrol Team from Jan. 1 to 28.
