MANILA, Philippines — The Palace clarified that January 27haha777, 2025, is not a holiday observed nationwide but a holiday only in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARRM) and other Muslim areas defined in the Muslim Code.
Its clarification followed an erroneous social media post that created confusion for the public.
“It is not a national holiday,” Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said in a statement Sunday.
Article continues after this advertisementHowever, Bersamin also said that Muslim employees in non-Muslim areas, such as the National Capital Region or Metro Manila, are excused from reporting to work on Monday, January 27.
