MANILA, Philippines — University of the Philippines product JD Cagulangan has joined his Korean Basketball League, Suwon KT Sonicboom.

Suwon on Thursday announced that its new import Cagulangan safely landed in South Korea.

The UP guard emerged as the UAAP Season 87 Finals MVP after dethroning La Salle led by two-time Season MVP Kevin Quiambao, who will also play in the KBL.

Cagulangan won two UAAP championships for the Fighting Maroons including his title-clinching triple in Season 84 that cemented his legacy in the league.

The Filipino floor general is set to bolster the Sonicboom, who are currently in joint third place with a 15-11 record.

Cagulangan is set to compete with his fellow Filipino imports Carl Tamayo, SJ Belangel, Justin Gutang, and Migs Oczon.
